Trish Imbrogno is a classical double bassist turned bluegrass picker. Her studies at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music with Jeffrey Turner (former Principal Bass, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra) provided a strong foundation of technique, rhythm, and musicianship, allowing a seamless transition from concert blacks to cowboy boots. Trish has also studied with Alan Bartram (Del McCoury Band, Travelin’ McCourys), Mike Barber (The Gibson Brothers), David McLaughlin (Johnson Mountain Boys) and Missy Raines. She has performed at Carnegie Hall (NYC), DelFest, Bristol Rhythm and Roots, and IBMA World of Bluegrass and has played opening sets for Bela Fleck’s My Bluegrass Heart, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Rumple Mountain Boys, and more. Trish is a member of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA)’s Leadership Bluegrass Class of 2018 and a Fishman artist.
