Penny Anderson began singing shape note music in the 1980s and took over organizing the Pittsburgh group in 2011. She has taught shape note workshops and a week-long class for Vocal Week at the Augusta Heritage Center in Elkins, WV. Her shape note compositions have been published in the online periodical The Trumpet. She loves many kinds of singing, but especially group singing.
