Autumn Song Workshop
A kick-off to a series of “The Wheel of the Year” song and music Zoom workshops with Ruthanne. E. Ankney.
Celebrate Autumn in all her bountiful glory with beautiful traditional songs and music. Ruthanne will lead songs for the Autumn Season, Harvest, and Samhain. This is a great chance to learn songs associated with Autumn folklore in a super friendly and fun atmosphere.
We will learn folk songs, rounds, music, and folklore from England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Scandinavia, Spain, Switzerland, Appalachia, and more. You can sing and play along. No instrument is necessary, but if you fancy playing along on any instrument you may do so. We focus on the singing. We approach this workshop as a festive way to learn seasonal songs together via Zoom. You don’t have to be a professional singer. Together we will learn the history and folklore attached to these traditional songs. A songbook will be provided to all participants prior to the workshop. This songbook is a treasure of seasonal Autumn songs and folklore. Join us and greet the fall season with festive songs and make new friends.
All levels are welcome. You don’t need any special experience or skills to enjoy this workshop.
*This workshop will be held online via Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent to you in the workshop confirmation email.
Following the workshop, everyone is invited to the Three Rivers Ballad Zoom Session from 7:30- 9:30 PM. You can join them to sing your own song or sit back and enjoy an evening of singers from near and far. A great chance to beat the time change blues as we move towards daylight savings time.
A Zoom link for the Three Rivers Ballad session will also be sent to all participants whether you plan to join the singing or if you are just curious and want to give the session a listen. The session is open to all levels. If you are interested in traditional ballads please check out the Three Rivers Ballad Singers Session. No fee to join the session via Zoom.
The Three Rivers Ballad Session is always welcoming new singers.
