Conor Freeland has been playing the uilleann pipes for almost ten years. Inspired by a childhood love of such bands as The Chieftains, Planxty, and Lunasa, he was taught by all-time greats Joey Abarta and Blackie O’Connell. Learning being a lifelong process, he now travels every year to County Clare for the Willie Clancy Summer School, to learn from and play with the various world-class pipers who gather there. Stateside, you can catch him playing with his band Bealtaine all around the western PA area.
