Need an instrument for an upcoming class at the Calliope School of Folk Music?

We suggest reaching out to your course teacher first to see what they recommend. 

Below is a list of shops for you to consider. Many shops offer instruments beyond those listed here. This list is by no means comprehensive, but it is a good place to start. Some places may suit your specific needs better than others (rent vs. own). We recommend calling stores before you go to confirm their hours are up to date and that they can accommodate your instrument and/or repair needs.

Calliope’s In-house Instrument Rental Program

Calliope has received a few instrument donations over the years, and these are now available to rent for the Calliope School of Folk Music. Our offering is modest and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Available instruments include: bluegrass banjo, mandolin, and guitar. If you’re interested (or have instruments to donate), please email calliope@calliopehouse.org. Rental cost: $50 per semester ($25 will be returned to the renter when the instrument is returned).
