Session Two: I Have No Money! What Now? The Music Business Demystified Workshop Series
November 19 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Session Two: I Have No Money! What Now? Budgeting and Working Within a Small Budget
In this session, we will cover everything from budgeting and how to do a lot with a little, to negotiating fair contracts, what to avoid spending money on, and where to invest most effectively (for your particular situation). Most musicians work with a tiny budget, and many people cite money as a roadblock to furthering their careers. This panel will share specific anecdotes about how they got around a system not built for the “starving artist.” Unfortunately, some people take advantage of independent artists. Let’s talk about how to avoid these situations and advocate for ourselves in these less-than-ideal situations.
The session will be three parts. The first part is a panel discussion with experts in this particular area; the second part will include a Q&A with the panel; and then the last part will be a hands-on activity.
